DNA Operator in Finland has already taken JoikuMetrix speed measurement and analyzer solution into their use.

JoikuMetrix can measure actual internet speed from both S60 mobile phones and USB modems. Speed measurement application is installed to a phone or Windows Vista laptop connected with an USB Modem. The application performs the speed tests in operator defined interval and load configuration. JoikuMetrix Server in operator premises logs and analyzes all the speed results, and authenticates the use.

JoikuMetrix can be used for benchmarking competing networks data quality, optimizing own data network, gaining understanding of data traffic peaks and bottlenecks in cell level and resolving customer speed issues. JoikuMetrix Server further allows operators to perform on-demand remote measurements to any given mobile phone. JoikuMetrix Analyzer Tool inside JoikuMetrix Server allows operator access for detailed speed data analysis.

JoikuMetrix Analyzer Tool analyses the speed results by any given logic. Below illustration shows actual data speed for a user "UkkoShaman Joikuman" during August2009, with average split information across bearers and cell id's under which JoikuMan has been mobile. Click of the button changes the view per selections, or provides drill down to exact session details, from which the measurements are made. Speed results are also accessible over a mobile client and web UI, and can be limited to user level, group level or admin level views.
