Joikusoft publishes its key growth indicators in 2009 for JoikuSpot in the Symbian S60 market and related to growth in both user base and usage activity level.

Overall, year 2009 was the year of heavy growth for Joikusoft. JoikuSpot use growth resulted into high amount of mobile data consumption via 3G operator networks globally, originated from Nokia and Samsung S60 mobile devices.

MOBILE DATA USAGE GROWTH VIA JOIKUSPOTTING

Average usage (Megabyte consumption per JoikuSpot internet session) grew from average of 8.03Mb/session (JAN09) to 22.80Mb/session (DEC09). Consumption level is on aggressive increase and talks about the quality of both JoikuSpot software, evolved mobile device battery lives, and quality of operator 3G networks.

Overall, 91 Million Megabytes of mobile data was consumed via JoikuSpotting during 2009, up from respective 8 Million Mb in 2008. With todays consumption rate, this translates to more than 3 Million Mb of mobile data consumption and respective operator data ARPU on a weekly basis. The pace is increasing month by month.

Highest data consumption originated from N95 device model, and from Elisa Finland and AWS USA operators. Largest markets were USA, Italy, Germany, Brazil and Finland.

JOIKUSPOTTER USER BASE GROWTH

During 2009, JoikuSpot attracted 358.000 new activated users. Unique monthly recurring users grew from 36.000 (JAN09) to 82.000 (DEC09), which translates to 25% of activity rate. These users generated a total of 5 Million mobile internet sessions via JoikuSpot WiFi tethering.

We anticipate the user base to grow heavily in 2010, both in terms of active unique monthly users and new users. This is due to that JoikuSpot will soon be available for new OS platforms presenting a wider array of supported mobile devices, and its presence is broadened to new channels and branded 3G operator deployments. Also JoikuBoost, the next generation of JoikuSpot, is nearing a commercial stage adding to the richness and use scenarios of the overall solution.

The most new users in 2009 came from Orange and CMCC operator networks, from 5800, E71 and N95 device population, and from the markets of UK, Russia, Germany, Saudi Arabia and Finland.

Joikusoft Wins Grand Prize in Annual Location-Based Developers' Program
